Like mentioned before cyberbullying happens through the use of the internet, and is more common between the ages of 13-17. With that being said it is obvious that social media plays such a big role in cyberbullying between adolescents. Social media is one of the most used internet sites by teens and can be used for good things as well as bad ones. According to dosomething.org, when it comes to bullying 81% of students say it is easier to bully someone through social media. Also according to nobullying.com 85% of teens have some type of social media. There are many social media sites tees could use to cause bullying, but according to Lindsey Barton Straus, JD Facebook is the number one teens use. Because it is so popular between teens is it most likely to be used as a form of bullying. One way they bully people is by commenting harsh things on each others selfies. There are other social media websites that are common for teens to use like:

75% of teens use Facebook, and 54% said they experienced cyberbullying.

66% of teens use YouTube, and 21% said they experienced cyberbullying.

43% of teens use Twitter, and 28% said they experienced cyberbullying.

24% of teens use Instagram, and 22% said they experienced cyberbullying.
